CPU foundation Day 2010: Sharing Gods' Blessings with one another

The event began with a  ceremony at the Philippine-American Cemetery to remember the American Baptist missionaries and Filipino leaders who have laid the groundwork for this University. An opening program at the Alumni Promenade and Concert Park fallowed. At the APCP, the "PAGHILIAMBITANAY exhibit was put up featuring the different programs and Development Center (KDC), Outreach Office and the *(ANEC) at the Alumni Promenade Concert Park.

For years, Central Philippine University has brought not only knowledge to its students and alumni who are now practicing in their chosen fields, but it has a bequeathed God's Word unto them.

That is why the University's theme is centered on Scientia et Fides, Knowledge and Faith working hand in hand in accomplishing the University's goal of consolidated academic and spiritual refinement.

From Jaro Industrial School, a small institution built by Baptist missionaries on October 1, 1905 during the first year of American colonial rule, to Central Philippine University, a large, 24 -hectare complex of buildings of learning. the university has come a long way

The highlight of the day was the performance of Gymnics Philippines, a group of young acrobats who enthralled the audience with their exceptional display of flexibility and gravity-defying motion at the university covered gym. Their performance reflected on the theme, as each of them worked in unison to give the audience a breath taking, and I say heart stopping performance that could have induced either fear or anticipation.

It is our hope that the 2010 CPU foundation day has inspired the front liners of CPU to find more meaningful and relevant ways expressing its motto of "Scientia et Fides" as it lives through its 10-5th year of delivering EXEMPLARY CHRISTIAN EDUCATION FOR LIFE.

I am proud to be a centralian bringing with me the central spirit
